Monday Meal Planning

OK! The sickies have finally left my house (well, I have it now, but I can manage myself better than I can manage my baby) and so our menu planning is back. I'm really excited about this week because I feel like we'll get real meals all week instead of the slacker meals I was preparing while the baby was sick. Here ya go:

Monday:
Oven fried chicken and yellow squash

Tuesday:
Cube Steak Parmesan

Wednesday:
Chicken Spaghetti

Thursday:
Beef Stew w/ rice

Friday:
Homemade pizza

Saturday:
Glazed Country Ribs with new potatoes

Sunday:
Breakfast for dinner

Check out "money saving monday" since I didn't get a chance to do a frugal friday last week. :)

Monday Meal Planning

Here we are facing a new week...what's for dinner?

Monday: Tortellini (didn't get to have it last week as we were invited over to a friend's for dinner)

Tuesday: BBQ Chicken Corn Bread Bake

Thursday: Tortilla Chip Casserole

Friday: Some kind of pizza (possibly chicken fajita?)

Saturday: Country Pork Ribs with Mashed Potatoes

Sunday: Chicken Tetrazzini

I'm actually ALL DONE with my shopping for the week! I took hubs out to the grocery store yesterday to buy some lunch (they were doing a fundraiser for the American Heart Association) and we went ahead and got our shopping done while we were there. Can I just tell you how nice it is to have an extra set of hands with a 7 month old in the grocery store?!

For those of you who are looking for some GREAT DEALS this week, I have two words...

Harris. Teeter.

We saved $23.00 yesterday! They've got a great deal on Ken's Salad Dressing (buy 2, get 3 free--we go through ranch dressing in this household like it won't exist tomorrow so it was a wonderful buy for us), their manager's special on chicken breasts is incredible, and they have bacon on BOGO so I got a few and froze them since I use a lot of bacon as accents in my recipes.

Weekly Meal Plan: 8/17-8/23

This is what I see on my computer screen every time I look at it. It is a constant reminder of my desire to save my family as much money as I possibly can. When I decided to do menu planning, I wanted to find a good way to keep track of a weekly menu without:

A. Wasting Paper

B. Having to buy something (not in our budget right now)

So this was my solution! I plan out our weekly menu, type it into google calendar, take a screen shot and make it my background. :)

Here's our meal plan for the week:

Monday:
Baked Ziti with White Sauce and Spaghetti Squash

Tuesday:
Taco Chip Casserole with side salad

Wednesday:
Cheeseburger Pie and Broccoli

Thursday:
Chicken Divan with Veggie Medley

Friday:
Homemade Pizza Friday: Pepperoni Pizza

Saturday:
BREAKFAST SPECIAL: Banana Stuffed French Toast
Dinner: Orange Juice Chops With Green Beans

Sunday:
Potato Spinach Bake

Check back throughout the week for the recipes!
